Cork Rocks for Rory 2026!
The Lee Valley is set to ‘Rock for Rory’ again this summer as Cork City Council hosts three new Rory Gallagher exhibitions in his hometown.
These will showcase previously unseen memorabilia, personal effects and rare photography in collaboration with the Rory Gallagher Estate
The exhibitions run at Cork City Hall, Cork City Library and Cork Public Museum from June 11 to July 4 2026.
A free open air Rory Gallagher Tribute Concert will also take place on the afternoon of Sunday 14 June 2026 in Fitzgerald’s Park
The Rory Gallagher ‘Stompin Ground’ Cork City Walking Trail will also be updated with new facts and memorabilia from the Rory Gallagher Estate to celebrate the 2nd edition of Cork Rocks for Rory.
Cork City Library:

‘Recalling Calling Card’ Exhibition: Marking 50 years of the 1976 Rory Gallagher album, Calling Card.
This special exhibition showcases rare and never-before-seen images by renowned music photographer Michael Putland for the Calling Card album artwork
Rory’s handwritten lyrics and production notes for the Calling card album will also supplement the display.

Cork City Hall:

‘On the Boards of Cork City Hall: Rory Gallagher in Concert 1974’
Cork based photographer, Pat Galvin had access on stage and behind the scenes to witness the legendary Rory Gallagher concerts on the 3rd and 5th of January 1974 at Cork City Hall.
Including photographs from those nights on the boards of Cork City Hall are shown for the first time.
Complimented by the display of Rory’s First Guitar, memorabilia and information about the background of Rory Gallagher’s performances at Cork City Hall will inform visitors.

Cork Public Museum:

‘Concerts of the Continental Op’. Opening on Rory’s anniversary, Sunday, 14 June, is a new audiovisual display of Rory Gallagher in performance as part of the museum’s permanent Cork collections.
Enhancements include new memorabilia from the Rory Gallagher Estate.
Visitors will also explore Rory’s global influence through recorded testimonials and archival material.

Cork Rocks for Rory 2026 Open-Air Concert
Building on the success of last year’s event, a line-up of Cork musicians will once again take to the stage in Fitzgerald Park to celebrate Rory Gallagher’s music.
The concert is curated by Sheena Crowley of Crowley’s Music Centre—where Rory famously purchased his Fender Stratocaster.
Tres Hombres, The Crew, Hot Guitars and Dying Breedwill provide a strong line-up performing some of Rory Gallagher’s most iconic songs.
