The Gallagher family would like to pay tribute to one of the greatest supporters and fans of Rory Gallagher and his music.
It was announced that John ‘Jay Jay’ Joyce, a wonderful man and character, has sadly passed on 7th August 2024.
We offer our sincerest condolences to his Wife, Annette, Daughters Jacqui, Kim and all of the Joyce family & their friends.
Jay Jay did so much to engage people with Rory’s music.
An ever present on Rory’s live tours over the years, Jay Jay went on to help us to set up and run the official Rory Gallagher Forum.
His regular contact providing us with inputs and suggestions in carrying Rory’s name forward were always welcome and Jay Jay made a massive contribution in upholding Rory’s name and legacy.
There was also rarely a Rory tribute concert that you would not find Jay Jay at, willing on the band and the audience with his enthusiasm.
Jay Jay will be sadly missed by all in the Rory community but never forgotten.
We would like to join everyone in thanking Jay Jay for his life & spirit as part of this extended fan family.
